Teach Obedience | Share God’s Love

Who is a Disciple? A disciple is simply a leaner. Discipleship involves sharing God’s word with those who have already believed in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Jiloa Ministries focuses on three main areas while carrying out Discipleship. They include the following;

Building Relationships: Discipleship centers at building friendships among believers. Jesus knew each of His disciples by name and ability. He said: I will make you fishers of men. He visited them, prayed for their relatives, and ate together with them. In fact discipleship means friends focusing on Christ as the center of their lives and growth.

Teaching/Mentoring: We are all called to be teachers of the word; to teach ourselves and others “How to live a Christian life worthy of God’s glory. This is something that we implement in all our discipleship ministries.

Love for one another: This is the actual principle in discipleship. It is something to put into practice, not theory at all. When we are in the ministry of discipleship, we emphasize sharing God’s Love with all brethren by looking at whom we can help, find, equip, teach, show the way, or support.

We carry out Discipleship through Prayer groups, Fellowships, Mentoring, Conferences and Home gatherings.

Discipleship not a request!

Carrying out Discipleship is a command not a request. See below from Mathew 28:19-20;

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commended you. And surely, I am with you always to the very end of the age."

Go and make disciples. Jesus did not say “I request you to go…?????

Of all nations: It is a global ministry.

Baptizing them: After evangelism, new converts are to be baptized.

Teaching them to obey: discipleship is more of teaching the Christian virtues of life than mere preaching.

When Jesus Christ was with His disciples, He taught a lot about marriage, divorce, giving, experiences, temptations, pains, joy, persecution, peace, successes, failures and all sorts of things that humans experience here on earth, and how to deal with them in line with God’s will. He taught them How to Pray, How to fast, How to worship, How to Obey, How to trust, How to be bold, How to follow the truth, How to go to Heaven…this long list of teachings full of eternal life goes on, and on.
